(BEDFORD) – The Board of Directors of the StoneGate Arts & Education Center held a special session on December 29th to pay tribute to retiring Executive Director Gene McCracken.
The Board recognized McCracken’s leadership and dedication to the Center’s mission and wished him well as he retires at the end of December.
Jamie Blackwell, StoneGate Board President, presented McCracken with a plaque honoring his years of service. “The Board would like to thank Gene for establishing a firm foundation that we can build upon for the future.” Blackwell added, “Gene has been instrumental in StoneGate’s establishment in the original building and now the transition to our new downtown facility.”
McCracken has served as the Executive Director since the Center’s inception and has been instrumental in establishing educational partnerships that continue to serve the community. “My whole life has been about education and making life better for kids”, McCracken stated. “It’s been a great pleasure serving and we look forward to retirement and travelling as soon as possible.”
The selection process for McCracken’s successor is underway and an announcement is anticipated in early January.
