OOLITIC – The Town of Oolitic is accepting applications for a deputy town marshal after Andrew Tillett submitted his resignation.
Andrew accepted a position for a pharmaceutical company in Bloomington, according to town officials. The income that Andrew will receive from the Bloomington pharmaceuticall company is more than the Town of Oolitic had in their budget for the deputy town marshal position.
“I have worked for the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department for about five years, serving on the SWAT team, K-9 officer. I had the option as a drug detective and decided on being a K-9 officer,” said Tillett.
“I lived here and love this place and love Jon Jefferies. He is a great guy to work with. When I worked for the sheriff’s department I knew he had my back,” Tillett said following his hiring as Oolitic Deputy Town Marshal back in November 2020.
The Town is currently seeking applications from anyone who is interested in applying. Applications can be picked up at the Oolitic Town Hall. Applicants will be pre-screened and a thorough background check will be completed.
In addition, the town council will take part in the hiring selection.
