North Lawrence Community Schools has modified its COVID-19 guidelines following an update from the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) for K-12 institutions. Beginning Friday, Feb. 18, masks will be optional in all NLCS facilities.
Additionally, IDOH no longer recommends quarantining or contract tracing in schools. Students and staff members will not be required to quarantine if exposed to a positive COVID-19 case, but should continue to watch for symptoms.
If a student or staff member does test positive, they will be required to stay home and isolate for five days and can return to school on the sixth day as long as they have been fever-free for 24 hours.
