Seymour man dies after motorcycle crashes on rural road in Jackson County

SEYMOUR – A Seymour man died from his injuries after he was thrown from his motorcycle on a county road in Jackson County.

On Monday, April 8 about 3:45 p.m.,40-year-old Timothy Kerkhof lost control of his silver 2004 chopper motorcycle while traveling south on County Road 700 East near County Road 725 North, north of Seymour, reported Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles. 

Sgt. Wheeles reports Kerkhof lost control while taking a sharp turn onto County Road 725 North.

Kerkhof was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced deceased by the Jackson County Coroner’s Office.

An ISP Crash Reconstructionist was called to the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Seymour Police Department, Jackson County EMS, Redding Township Fire Department, Jackson County Coroner’s Office, and 31 Wrecker Service.
