Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County announces collaboration with Mitchell Community Schools to establish a new site

LAWRENCE CO. – The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County is thrilled to announce a partnership with Mitchell Community Schools to open a new Club site within Mitchell Junior High School. The site is slated to commence operations at the beginning of the 2024 – 2025 school year.

This collaboration marks an essential milestone for both organizations, signaling a shared commitment to providing enriching opportunities for youth across Lawrence County. The memorandum of understanding signed between the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County and Mitchell Community Schools outlines the framework for this joint effort to create a supportive environment where young people can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The site will provide after-school care until 7:00 p.m. for 4th – 8th grade youth.

The new Boys & Girls Club site at Mitchell Junior High will offer a range of programs and activities
tailored to meet local youth’s unique needs and interests. From academic support to recreational
opportunities, the Club will serve as a hub for positive youth development, fostering essential skills and relationships that empower young people to reach their full potential.
