Disorderly person complaint leads to OWI arrest

ORANGE CO. – On Saturday, June 15, Indiana State Police Trooper Austin Collins and other officers responded to the American Legion in West Baden after a report of a disorderly person refusing to leave.

Witnesses told officers that 51-year-old Nina Suchanek had been kicked out of the American Legion earlier because she was disorderly. Witnesses also said Suchanek came back and started to be disruptive again.

Officers spoke to Suchanek, and police say she showed visible signs of impairment.

Witnesses told police, and surveillance video showed Suchanek driving to the scene.

Suchanek was transported to IU Health Hospital for medical clearance and a blood draw.

She was then transported to the Orange County jail on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Sergeant Michael Allen, Trooper Noah Ewing, West Baden, and French Lick Police assisted.
