(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man is in police custody following an armed standoff with officers.
Authorities say 21-year old Joshua North quarreled with a friend because North's acquaintance had a shotgun which north wanted to discharge at midnight on New Year's Eve. The friend would not relent and eventually lost a fight over the gun to North, who retreated into his friend's home.
Police arrived and entered the building after unsuccessful attempts to contact North. He was arrested and charged with criminal recklessness with a firearm, burglary, theft, resisting law enforcement and residential entry.
