(BEDFORD) - A new fire truck has been ordered for the city of Bedford.
The 100-ft. ladder truck will be purchased from M & S Fire and Safety out of Evansville for a total cost of $828,800.
In a special meeting of the Bedford Board of Works and Safety, the board agreed on the contract after Fire Chief Jack Stigall and a few other officials looked over the large notebook of legal papers and specs of the new fire truck.
Money to buy the much anticipated machine will come from state grant money, the City of Bedford and loan interest loans. The fire truck is expected to be delivered in April after it is featured at the Indiana Fire Department Convention in Indianapolis.
