(ORLEANS) - A Franklin, Indiana man attempted to flee from police in Orleans after they tried to serve an arrest warrant.
58-year-old Phillip Haverly was approached by police in a parking lot in Orleans for a warrant on possession of a controlled substance. Haverly left in his vehicle and rammed an Orleans police cruiser.
Haverly's vehicle was found about three miles east of Orleans were he attempted to flee on foot. Haverly was found hiding behind a nearby tree and he was immediately arrested. Haverly was charged with additional offenses including resisting law enforcement, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction and criminal recklessness with a motor vehicle.
