(BEDFORD) - Albert Tolbert, representing Lawrence County residents, spoke to the Lawrence County Commissioners Tuesday asking for a way to re-instate county bus service.
Tolbert quoted surveys showing a need for the much appreciated service. According to the numbers, nearly 3,000 riders took advantage of the bus service each month last year. He presented the board with a petition asking for the re-instatement. Tolbert was told he would have to talk with the County Council for a decision, but the Commissioners were in agreement with Tolbert's plea.
In other business, Margaret Acuff spoke with the board on what to do about the dogs who attacked her Jersey cow about a month ago. Board Attorney David Smith told Acuff to file a complaint in small claims court. If she doesn't get satisfaction there, she can come back to the commissioners and they will see she gets justification.
