(BEDFORD) - Bedford police arrested a man after he brandished a knife in front of them.
On Monday night, police were called to the 500 block of 18th Street to a report of an auto accident. When they went to investigate, police found the 38-year-old William Wigley, of Bedford, smelling of alcohol and marijuana.
Police then began a field sobriety test and, according to a report, Wigley turned around and was holding a knife. Wigley then apparently lunged at the officers.
Wigley was taken into custody and taken to the Lawrence County Jail arrested for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, attempted battery on a police officer with a deadly weapon, possession of marijuana under 30 grams, public intoxication, in violation of the open container law and an expired license plate.
