(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman alerted police on a phone call she recently received.
She said a man called her saying there had been a mistake on her checking account. He asked her to give him the numbers to her checking account so he could compare them. When she asked who he was, he would not response. She did not give him any information and hung up.
Nearly all financial institutions will not ask for any information over the phone unless you call. Be sure you do not give out any checking account or savings account information over the phone unless you are absolutely sure who you are talking to. If you receive such a call, be sure to inform police immediately.
