(SCOTTSBURG) - State Police are looking for a man who fled from them near Scottsburg after they tried to stop him for a traffic violation.
Police spotted the Hyundai Elantra he was in crossing the center line. They began to pursue him and he turned into a residence home. Trooper Brian Busick got out of his cruiser and the man took off going through the yard and back onto the road. The vehicle went into a nearby field and the driver fled on foot.
A 17-year-old passenger was apprended. Police began looking for the missing driver for nearly an hour, however, they called off the search because of the rainy weather and other circumstances. A search of the vehicle yielded over four pounds of suspected marijuana and over three grams of suspected methamphetamine hidden in the truck.
Police have several leads, but anyone with information on the fleeing suspect is asked to contact Trooper Busick at the Indiana State Police Selersburg Post at 1-800-872-6743.
