(BEDFORD) - Jean Williams, the wife of former Bedford Mayor John Williams, has announced her intention to seek the office of the Mayor of the City of Bedford.
Jean says her decision was based on the comments of others. She says her plans are to unite the community.
This is Jean's first attempt in seeking public office. Her name will appear on the Republican ballot in the next election primary to be held on Tuesday, May 8th.
Meanwhile, another candidate has expressed interest in running for mayor. Sam Shaw announces he will be a candidate. Shaw will declare a party affiliation at a later date.
