(BEDFORD) - Plans for an expanded parking lot and new entrance to the Bedford Public Library are underway.
John Hawkins with Kovert Hawkins Architects showed the board in last night's meeting detailed drawings. With the added parking spaces the entrance to the library will be moved closer to the parking.
A new environmental system will be installed to replace the antiquated boilers and outdated cooling units that have been a part of the library for years.
One highlight of the new construction will be a drive-up book drop. Estimated cost of the project is just under $2-million. After bids have been received construction is expected to begin in April.
