(ODON) - An England fugitive has been banned from working with children after she was found by police in Dubois County.
In December of 2005, Immigration and Customs Enforcement contacted Indiana State Police at Jasper and requested assistance in locating Nicola Jane Radford, then 21, of Wigan, England who attempted to suffocate a 12-month-old boy and fracturing his leg in England.
Police learned she may have stayed with an Oden family in Dubois County and went to investigate. Police discovered she had changed her name to hide her identity. Radford was arrested and deported back to England.
Recently, Radford was convicted in a Liverpool Crown Court trial. She was found guilty of four offenses of bodily and grievous harm. The judge gave Radford a life sentence. She will be eligible for parole in three and half years, however, she is banned from working with children for the rest of her life.
