(CORTLAND) - A Jackson County grandmother is being hailed as a hero after giving CPR to a grandson who’d walked into a pond.
Frances Imlay says she's never been trained how to resuscitate anyone, but has worked in hospitals and seen it done.
Imlay spent ten minutes trying to get 16-month old Benjamin Yoder breathing after pulling him out of a pond near her home. By the time paramedics arrived, Yoder was breathing shallowly.
The child is expected to make a full recovery.
