(MITCHELL) - Mitchell police have arrested two residents on battery and burglary charges following leads and an overnight investigation.
23-year-old John Pickett and 19-year-old Josh Engler were taken into custody after police determined the two allegedly tole several pieces of stereo equipment from area residents.
Apparently the two were involved in an altercation and were charged with aggravated battery. Five area residents gave police statements on what they saw between the two men.
Both Pickett and Engler were taken to the Lawrence County Security Center and incarcerated.
The case is in the early stages and Mitchell Police are asking anyone else that may have had their stereo electronics stolen to contact the Mitchell Police Department.
