(COLUMBUS) - Trial testimony included statements from a former cell mate of Robert Bassett, Jr.
Doug Johnson told the court that he was first offered $10,000 dollars to kill Bassett's nephew, a key prosecution witness in Bassett's quadruple murder trial. But Johnson said Bassett switched targets to Kathleen Burns, Bartholomew County Chief Deputy Prosecutor.
Bassett is on trial for conspiracy to commit murder. Bassett is a convicted killer serving four life sentences in prison without parole for the 1998 deaths of a Seymour woman and three children.
