(BEDFORD) - Construction on the Old Milwaukee Depot continues with nearly all of the tile roofing to be complete within a few days according to Project Manager Chuck Jones.
Phase Two of the project will concentrate on the refurbishing of the outside stone and upgrading the windows and entrances.
Inside, the floor will be reworked to strengthen the buckled wood. Tiles from the restrooms will be cleaned and replaced, new electrical wiring will be installed and a new heating and cooling system will be installed.
Trena Carter with the Administrative Resources Association will apply for a matching grant worth nearly $720,000 dollars. The BUEA will have to come up with 15% of the grant money, or $90,000 dollars.
An informational public meeting will be held in the next couple of weeks to update on the construction on the century old structure.
