(BLOOMINGTON) - It will take parental permission for Monroe County middle and high school students to complete a controversial survey later this year.
The Monroe County Community School Corporation has crafted the sex survey to better judge what students think and in what activities they engage during adolescence.
The corporation hopes to use information gleaned from the poll to craft its sex education courses as it moves forward. The survey has been written by an Indiana University health sciences professor and will take less than an hour to finish.
Questions about the survey will be answered during forums on March 28th and 29th. Permission slips must be signed by April 2nd for students to take part.
