(UNDATED) - Federal prosecutors have filed child-porn charges against two Indiana men after a series of searches last week.
State and federal authorities charged 41-year-old Michael Barnhorst of Bloomfield with subscribing to a child-porn website, and 26-year-old Sean Osborne of Martinsville with sending a disc of child porn through the mail.
Osborne is also charged with trying to buy a child-porn DVD from a correspondent who turned out to be an undercover postal inspector. Postal inspectors say in court records one of the children depicted on the disc is known to be from Indiana.
U.S. Attorney Susan Brooks won't elaborate, but says charges remain possible in the other searches. Court and prison records say Barnhorst served half of a two-year prison term for a 1994 child molesting conviction, while Osborne has a past conviction for sexual misconduct with a minor.
Brooks says the Justice Department is launching an ad campaign warning teenagers to be careful what information they post online.
