(WEST LAFAYETTE) - An art auction raised over $17,000 dollars toward a memorial fund for Purdue University student Wade Steffey.
The freshman was missing for more than two months before being found electrocuted in a dormitory utility room.
Bloomington Area Arts Council spokesperson Miah Michaelson says the proceeds will be used to provide scholarships for Bloomington South High School students attending Purdue.
Some money will also help fund campus police training on missing person's cases and campus safety issues.
