(UNDATED) - All seven of the Bedford mayoral hopefuls appeared at the Bedford Chamber of Commerce Candidates Forum held at the Downtown Convention Center last night.
Nearly 300 people watched and listened intently as each candidate answered the five questions given to them by moderator Brenda Fiddler. Most of the candidates related to the departure of Visteon and lost jobs. Others talked about making Bedford attractive to outside businesses, while some made mention of economic development and helping families and children get good educations. Goals, accountability and teamwork were words used in several speeches.
Republican candidates are incumbent Joe Klumpp, also Jack Butterfield, Sam Shaw, Jean Williams and Jonathon Srygler. Democratic candidates are Tony Vanpelt and Alan Craig.
The Bedford primary election will be held on Tuesday, May 8th.
