(BEDFORD) - Bedford Urban Enterprise Association Director Jamie Harris continues to study ways the organization can obtain funding.
He says in the latest legislative session, House Bill 1720 was amended removing several provision for tax credits to the organization and credit definitions. He says a provision in Senate Bill 500 will allow municipalities to pass an ordinance allowing businesses to continue to contribute to the Enterprise Zone.
The City of Bedford has given the BUEA $25,000 and another $25,000 is available for future funding. Harris says the organization plans to pay back the city by the end of 2007 when billings bring in more funds.
