(JUDAH) - A two-vehicle accident on HWY 37 last night injured one person.
The accident occurred at the stoplight on State Road 37 and Old State Road 37 near Judah. Police say 48-year-old Carmon Butcher, of Bedford, was waiting to turn left when she thought she had the right-of-way. Butcher began to turn and was hit by a 34-foot RV driven by 59-year-old Raymond Eickholt, of Clermont, Florida.
Butcher told police she saw the green light for the other lanes when she realized too late the turn lane was actually red.
Butcher was taken to Bloomington Hospital complaining of pain to her ribs and leg. Eickholt was not injured in the accident.
State Police, along with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, Oolitic and Marshall Volunteer Fire Departments, Dunn and BRMC EMS helped at the accident scene.
