(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell teen was injured when her vehicle went off the roadway, hit a culvert, and ended up landing on the driver’s side after sliding to a stop.
Police report that 19-year-old Kala Broughton was traveling on Meridian Road near Mitchell when her vehicle ran off the roadway. She over corrected, trying to get back onto the roadway.
Her vehicle began sliding sideways and hit an embankment and culvert. The vehicle overturned and landed on the driver's side.
Broughton was taken by ambulance to Dunn Memorial ER in Bedford and treated for lacerations to both of her arms. Broughton received several small cuts and scrapes.
A passenger in the vehicle, 16-year-old Danielle Sanders of Mitchell, was not injured in the accident.
Marion First Responders were on the scene to assist.
