(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Recorder Myron Rainey is alerting those who have been discharged from the military that a new law goes into effect today regarding retrieving information about military individuals.
The Indiana House Enrolled Act makes it more difficult to get information on them.
Before, anyone could see the information, creating a chance for identity theft. Now individuals will have to show a photo ID and have certain court orders and other paper work to be able to see the information.
For more information, contact Rainey at the County Recorder's office.
