(FALLUJAH, IRAQ) - A second Lawrence County native has survived an attack in Iraq in which he was wounded.
Private Jeremy Brooking's family says the soldier was on patrol near Fallujah, Iraq when his company encountered small arms fire.
Depending on the seriousness of Brooking's injuries, he'll either be transferred back to the U.S. or return to the front lines when he recovers.
Brooking and his wife Tia now live in North Carolina, but information has steadily been relayed back to family in Indiana.
Another Lawrence County soldier, Brock Fields, escaped injury in Iraq when a trace bomb entered the Humvee he was driving and exited out the front of the damaged engine, without exploding.
