(BEDFORD) - Nearly 2,700 customers of Duke Energy were without power on Saturday afternoon.
The power outage affected an area south of Bedford and into Mitchell.
Angeline Protogere with Duke Energy says a transmission line had failed for an unknown reason.
Protogere says workers rerouted the electricity from the Mitchell and Hartleyville sub-stations to try and track down the power break.
Electricity in the affected areas was out for about 30 minutes.
