(FRENCH LICK) - Police in Orange County are investigating an attempted murder.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department responded to a 911 call in French Lick when the caller stated that he had just shot his step-father.
Police say 22-year-old Marcus Crowe stated he had been arguing with 46-year-old Richard Williams. Crowe said he had shot Williams in self-defense.
Orange County Sheriff's Department Detective Buford DeWitt says statements and evidence point to a different scenario. A warrant for Crowe's arrest will be served with attempted murder charges.
Williams suffered a superficial gunshot wound to the chest and medical emergency personnel treated him at the scene.
Indiana State Police, French Lick Police and the West Baden Police Departments assisted at the scene.
