(MITCHELL) - An Orleans resident escape serious injures after she was hit by a semi-truck owned by a Ready Mix Company out of Kentucky.
Police say 75-year-old Kathleen Jacobs was hit by a truck owned by the Meade County Ready-Mix Company, located in Brandenburg, Kentucky.
Truck driver 64-year-old Roy Wood, of Orleans, told police that he didn't see Jacobs, who was in the right lane. Wood was attempting to switch lanes and Jacobs was apparently in his blind spot.
Jacobs told police that her vehicle was hit by Wood's truck and was thrown into the median of the highway. Neither Wood nor Jacob suffered any apparent injury.
The accident occurred at the State Hwy 37 and U.S. Hwy 50 intersection near Mitchell.
