(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington girl nearly drowned in Mills Pool, while on a church outing.
Officials with Monroe County United Ministries say a lifeguard on duty was able to save the girl and give her CPR. The girl apparently swallowed a large amount of water and stopped breathing.
She was taken to Bloomington Hospital and kept for observation.
Officials with the Bloomington Department of Parks and Recreation are reminding parents and chaperons to be extra vigilant with kids, when they get in the water.
