(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Public Library continues construction on the nearly 100-year-old building on K Street.
The new parking lot should be finished by no later than September 1st. A new entrance and drive-up book drop will also be a part of the improvements.
Meanwhile, library officials continue to study paperwork for the library branch to be built in Judah.
Board members heard from Missy Tackett and Cindi Brand with Bayit Designs on how the new building could be decorated. They suggested contemporary furniture with warm colors would bring in more customers.
They also recommended the main library in Bedford receive a makeover with new bold and different changes. Highlighting architectural detail, such as the fireplace, and adding deep rich colors would invite patrons to move and discover more of the library. New areas would be created to allow for more study.
The board will take the information and make a final decision.
