(BEDFORD) - Bedford Regional Medical Center has been awarded a three-year accreditation in mammography by the American College of Radiology.
The ACR, headquartered in Reston, Virginia, awards the endorsement to facilities for high practice standards. The organization serves more than 32,000 nuclear medicine practitioners with programs focused on comprehensive health care services.
The Bedford Regional Medical Center mammography department offers the latest in technology. BRMC's Dr. Jonathan Stafford says routine screenings are very important for women 40 years old and older.
Stafford says breast cancer death rates would decrease by 30% with routine screenings.
