(WICKLIFFE) - Five people were injured in an accident south of Patoka Lake in Crawford County Sunday afternoon.
Police say 22-year-old Laura Begle, of Ferdinand, was Lifelined to the University of Louisville in critical condition after her vehicle she was driving slammed into another vehicle head-on. Her passengers, 35-year-old Patricia Hammond, of West Baden and 44-year-old Allen Kerr, of Canada, complained of pain and were taken to Jasper Memorial hospital.
Forty-one-year-old Mike Hammond and 9-year-old Kaitlin Hammond, both of West Baden, were also taken to Jasper Memorial. Mike was treated and released. Kaitlin suffered chest and spleen injures and is in stable but potentially serious condition. She is currently undergoing testing for her injures.
Police are continuing to investigate the accident trying to figure out why Begle went left of center to cause the accident.
