(BEDFORD) - An Indianapolis man was taken to the Lawrence County Jail after he was caught speeding on Oolitic Road north of Bedford.
When police caught up with 28-year-old Jeremy Hutchens, he smelt of alcohol. As police tried to give Hutchens a field sobriety test, he became loud and belligerent.
Hutchens tried to run, but Officer Greg Hagan tackled him down, receiving a cut to his head in the process.
Hutchens was charged with speeding, false and fictitious registration, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest by fleeing and by force, and battery on a police officer resulting in injury.
Hutchens could additionally be charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated following test results.
