(BEDFORD) - Today is the 4th of July and the city of Bedford is celebrating with a slew of activities.
The Veteran's breakfast starts this morning at the Golden Corral restaurant at 7:30AM.
At 11:30AM today the Limestone Heritage Festival parade will begin with a Blackhawk helicopter fly-over.
The old-fashioned ice cream social will fill out the afternoon hours from 1:30PM to 4:30PM with the Residue band performing at the Thornton Park Pavilion.
The Lawrence County Community Band will then perform from 5:30PM to 6:30PM also at the Thornton Park Pavilion.
A free outdoor concert entitled "Some Day" will be held at the Parkview Football Field and will feature Jeff Day. The concert kicks off at 8:00PM.
A pre-fireworks patriotic salute to our nation will begin at 10:00PM at the Parkview Field with singer Christina Root singing the National Anthem.
As soon as the sky darkens, around 10:15PM, fireworks will be set off for residents to enjoy.
The Limestone Heritage Festival will conclude later with a tennis tournament and an Elliot Stone Quarry tour next Saturday and Sunday.
