(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested yesterday for robbing three college apartments near the IU campus.
Bloomington police allege 23-year-old Justin Franklin stole thousands of dollars worth of items from Varsity Villas Apartments on Dunn Street.
According to police, residents of one apartment reported a man who wore an Indianapolis Colts jersey walked through the front door of their apartment at night, asked the resident laying on the couch if everyone was asleep and walked out. When the people woke up, they found their computers, cell phones, DVDs, wallets and sunglasses missing, and called Bloomington police.
When Franklin was confronted by police afterwards, he reported his guitar and amp being stolen too. However, he also told the officer he was wearing a Colts jersey the night before and also matched the rest of the description.
Police found the stolen merchandise and took Franklin into custody solving a number of burglaries at the apartment complex over the weekend.
