(PAOLI) - Friends and relatives of an Orleans man charged in the child-abuse death of his infant daughter describe him as a loving father without any sign of an abusive temperament.
Furthermore, Indiana State Troopers who investigated the incident after the girl arrived at Bloomington Hospital of Orange County, found no evidence of child abuse after searching the parents' home.
Prosecutors have rested their case in the neglect trial of Jay Hembree, who is on trial for the shaking death of his 6-year-old daughter Lexi. The jury is expected to get the case after Labor Day, and a verdict may come a couple days later.
