(BEDFORD) - A 16-year-old Orleans teen was arrested on stolen vehicle charges after he tried to run from police.
A Bedford police officer pulled into the Circle K BP Gas and Grocery on 16th Street and noticed two youngsters mulling around a vehicle. Both were acting nervous according to the officer. The officer discovered that the vehicle had been stolen and began to check on the youths.
The two youths spotted the police officer and began to run on foot. The Orleans teen was seized by the officer. He was charged with theft of a vehicle, resisting arrest by fleeing, and was released to his mother with a promise to appear in court at a later date.
Police are continuing to look for the second youth. The stolen vehicle is owned by a local resident.
