2 Injured After French Lick Accident, Flee Scene

(FRENCH LICK) - Two people were injured in French Lick after they ran their car off the road, and then fled the scene of the accident.

According to state police reports, 30-year-old Jennifer Mills of French Lick ran her car off the road and struck a telephone pole on Gorge Rd. near CR-400 S.

Both her and her passenger, 38-year-old Jody McCracken, suffered injuries around their head and neck, but fled the scene of the wreck to a nearby residence.

Emergency medical technicians were called and, after examining the extent of the injuries, called emergency helicopters. Mills was flown in stable condition to Bloomington Hospital, McCracken, who wasn't wearing his seat belt, was flown to University of Louisville Hospital in serious condition.

Charges of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, operating with a suspended license, and false and fictitious registration will be filed against mills. Toxicology reports are still pending.
