(BEDFORD) - A man from Bedford has decided to throw his hat in the ring for governor.
48-year-old LaRon Keith announced yesterday he filed the necessary paperwork 2 weeks ago to form a campaign committee; however he said he wanted to wait to generate some publicity until he had his platform set.
Keith must now collect 4,500 signatures from across the state before he can officially challenge Governor Mitch Daniels in the Republican primary. And that will be the easy part.
Keith says he is currently running on his own personal money at this point, whereas Governor Daniels has a war chest built up to about $4.1 million so far.
Keith's primary campaign points so far include replacing property taxes with a sales tax, restricting state and local spending, and putting the time zone issue to a statewide vote.
