(BEDFORD) - Bedford police think a fire at the Kmart in town was started by an 8-year-old kid.
Bedford police officials say a store end cap full of Halloween bags was set on fire at the big box retailer.
According to the report, a Kmart employee saw an 8-year-old kid near the display and shortly thereafter, heard what sounded like the flicking of a lighter. The employee returned to see the Halloween bags on fire, and ran to get a fire extinguisher to put out the flames.
Nobody has reported seeing the fire actually start yet. Police are still looking into the matter, no charges have been filed.
