(BEDFORD) - In a follow up to a story broke by WBIW News, the Bedford police department has released additional information about the woman whose car ran up the steps of the Bedford Chamber of Commerce.
According to the report, Bedford police suspect 60-year-old Luz Ramirez Rey of Bloomington to have been the one that allegedly ran the red light, causing the accident that sent Rey to the hospital.
Around 9:30 Friday morning, Rey came eastbound through the intersection of 16th and L Streets when she was struck by the GMC van of F.J. Bailey. This caused Rey to loose control of her vehicle and run up the west side steps of the Chamber building, taking out the guardrail and causing the front column to twist and move back.
Rey complained of pain in her abdomen and pelvis and had to be extricated from the vehicle.
