(BEDFORD) - A 5-year-old was run over by yesterday afternoon after chasing his ball behind a pickup truck.
A Lawrence County sheriffs report says 25-year-old Jason Strunk was getting ready to pull out of his driveway at the end of a cul-de-sac on Glendale Way, when he noticed 5-year-old Nehemiah Ray playing near his truck.
Strunk started to pull out of his driveway when he heard a thump, and the boy screaming. Strunk allegedly ran over ray with his front tire, but then got out of the truck and took the boy home to his mother.
Strunk told Ray's mother, Lisha Ray, what happened, Lisha reportedly thanked him and told him he could head on out.
Strunk neglected to call police to report the incident, unaware he was supposed to. Ray was taken by his mother to Dunn Memorial Hospital with knee and leg injuries.
