(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police have arrested one man for stealing items from an ambulance.
43-year-old Jeffrey Nielsen is charged with 2 preliminary counts of theft and trespassing. A Bloomington emergency medical technician reportedly found Nielsen rifling through medical bags when he called police.
Nielsen told officers he was just looking for blankets in the ambulance. However, according to the report, a bottle of nitroglycerine tablets turned up missing.
Additionally, when hospital security officers arrived, they told police Nielsen had also attended a smoking cessation class he reportedly did not belong to, where he allegedly nicked 2 cans of V8 juice, nicotine patches, and nicotine lozenges.
Nielsen was lodged in the Monroe County jail as a result.
