(BEDFORD) - Bedford police arrested a Dubois, Indiana man on a number of charges after his friend got pulled over for driving erratically while on his cell phone.
Bedford police say 32-year-old Nathan Goldman was riding with a friend when police spotted their vehicle weaving along Williams Boulevard.
Police stopped the vehicle at Hillcrest and Beech assuming the driver was drunk, but the driver just said he was on his phone.
Officers checked the ID of Goldman, in the passenger seat, and found he had 3 warrants out for his arrest. One from the Indiana Department of Corrections for violation of parole, and 2 out of Orange County for assault and strong-arm charges.
When they searched Goldman's person, they also allegedly found marijuana and paraphernalia.
The driver was not found to have been involved in any wrongdoing.
