(BEDFORD) - A 53-year-old woman was held up by a masked gunman as she was trying to make a night deposit at Integra Bank late Sunday night.
Bedford police say a woman was taking her night deposit bag to the drop-off at the Integra Bank on James Avenue when she was approached by a man in dark clothing and a ski mask holding a handgun demanding her money.
Frightened, the woman stabbed the gas pedal and didn't make the turn around the building, striking a tree.
The subject then fled on foot north on James Avenue. Police responded with patrolmen and canine units, but the dogs lost the scent after trailing it for a while.
Bedford detectives are still investigating the incident and encourage anyone who was near James Avenue at 10:00pm Sunday night to call Bedford police at 275-3311.
