BMV Open Extended Hours To Issue Voter ID Cards

Last updated on Monday, November 5, 2007

(UNDATED) - For those of you who do not have a photo id but plan on voting, good news.

The BMV will be open Monday and extend hours Tuesday so you can get a state issued ID card.

Full service license branches will be open from 8:30am to 8:00pm Monday and 6:00am to 7:00pm Tuesday, Election Day.

To get and id card, you'll need to bring a birth certificate or passport, a pay check stub or a signed credit card, and a proof of residency, such as a utility bill.

Customers seeking state-issued photo id cards or driver licenses for voting purposes will receive priority both days. However, full services will be available both days.

In addition to the expanded hours, the BMV2You mobile unit will be in Indianapolis both days. It has been touring the state offering similar services to voters.

Hoosiers are reminded that they can conduct BMV business at any Indiana license branch, regardless of their county of residence.
